Description
This training provides a comprehensive overview of Hirschsprung disease, focusing on the epidemiology, classification, pathophysiology, genetics, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of Hirschsprung disease. Participants are introduced to the embryological basis of the disease, recognizing clinical warning signs, diagnostic investigations, histopathological confirmation, and both medical and surgical treatment approaches for affected neonates and children.
Objectives
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to accurately diagnose Hirschsprung disease, recognize complications such as Hirschsprung-associated enterocolitis, interpret diagnostic studies, initiate appropriate stabilization measures, and coordinate definitive surgical management for affected patients.
