Description
This training provides a comprehensive review of intestinal atresias, a group of congenital gastrointestinal obstructions that can occur at various levels of the intestine, including the duodenum, jejunum, ileum, and colon. The course covers classification, embryology, pathogenesis, prenatal and postnatal presentation, diagnostic evaluation, imaging, laboratory investigations, initial stabilization, surgical management, postoperative care, and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) principles in neonates.
Objectives
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to accurately assess, diagnose, stabilize, and manage neonates with intestinal atresias, while coordinating appropriate surgical and postoperative care to improve patient outcomes.
