Description

A Life-Course Agenda for African Women’s Cardiovascular Health The Inaugural African Women’s Heart Health Symposium brings cardiovascular science into the real-life settings in which women’s risk is recognised, assessed and managed — primary care, reproductive health, pregnancy, menopause, cardiometabolic and cardiorenal care, and specialist cardiovascular practice. Co-hosted by KCS and APOG, the symposium connects patients’ lived experience with clinicians, researchers, health-system leaders, policymakers, payers, professional societies and advocates. The programme moves from earlier recognition and better diagnosis to evidence-based treatment, integrated life-course care and accountable implementation.

Objectives

To enhance awareness, early recognition, prevention, and management of cardiovascular disease in African women through multidisciplinary education, stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue, and the development of actionable commitments to improve women’s cardiovascular health.
