The session covered the role of barium studies in evaluating gastrointestinal disorders and the use of hysterosalpingography in assessing the uterine cavity and fallopian tube patency during infertility investigations. Emphasis was placed on patient preparation, proper positioning, contrast media administration, radiation protection, infection prevention, and the identification of possible complications

Objectives

To describe the appropriate patient preparation and procedures involved in performing barium studies and HSG. To improve understanding of contrast media administration and image acquisition techniques.
